Add it in Tori
- Open Settings with the gear in the title bar.
- Go to Debuggers.
- Python (debugpy) is already there: it ships inside Tori. When the catalog has a newer version, Add a debugger lists it with Update.
Adding writes one file and runs nothing. Installing debugpy from PyPI is a separate click on the same row.
Use it without the catalog
Download the file and drop it in the folder below. Tori loads it the next time it starts.
Download file debugpy.toml
~/.config/tori/packs/dap/

1# debugpy, the adapter behind VS Code's Python debugging. Tori installs it into2# a venv of its own, made with the `python3` on your PATH, and runs the adapter3# from there. The program being debugged runs on the project's interpreter4# instead, which each launch config names, so the project never needs debugpy.56schema_version = 17id = "debugpy"8label = "Python (debugpy)"9description = "Debug Python scripts and tests with debugpy"10license = "Apache-2.0"11contributor = { name = "Tori", github = "gettori" }12verified_against = "1.8.22"13verified_on = "2026-09-22"1415# Where a Python project's imports resolve from, which becomes the debuggee's16# working directory.
